Rocky Mountain Sheep :

       Wade Johnson Outfitting (WJO) offers the sheep hunter an outstanding opportunity to harvest a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep or a Desert Sheep. WJO offers hunts for both species of these majestic animals
in Arizona. These are true "western" hunts in some of the most pristine country the west has to offer. Hunters will arrive at sheep camp by way of horseback and may even travel some using backpacks to get into prime sheep country. WJO sheep hunting guides are professionals with a sound knowledge of sheep huntingbased upon years of experience in the field. These hunts take place in different locations including the New Mexico border area. WJO takes their sheep hunting extremely serious and has enjoyed 100% success on all their sheep hunts. Sheep hunting can be very rigorous and hunters are encouraged to be in the best physical shape they can be in prior to the hunt, and while the demands are high

We have been fortunate enough to draw hunters for sheep. In 2005 we had Mike Pageler from Mesa Az. He drew a desert ram tag in a tough unit. Mike chose a nice ram on the first day to start his sheep hunting quest. In 2006 we took 15 year old Morgan Huff of Phoenix Az. after his desert ram. 13 days and three misses at a really good ram later, Morgan also got his ram out of a group of four. He did not get the biggest ram of the bunch but he went home with a nice ram that any of us would have liked to have. He has a lot of memories of his desert bighorn sheep adventure.

Now in 2007 WJO was truly blessed with the news of Pax Prentiss from Malibou Ca. Pax is a past client of WJO oryx hunts. He drew a Rocky Mt. Bighorn tag in New Mexico in a new unit. After through scouting we chose a ram that Pax ended up taking on opening day with his bow. At 171 gross B&C he was the second largest ram in North America killed with a bow for the year. Now that doesn’t stop us as we also had Sara Dawe of Phoenix Az. with a desert ram tag. We found a ram every day, but on the third day of her hunt Mick found the ONE. It took us two days to get the shot we wanted, but we got it, and she harvested a ram that ended up officially at 181-1/8 gross B&C putting him high in world standings. There also was only one ram larger than him taken for the year. With the recognition and reputation that we are developing, we are a great choice for your sheep hunt. We definitely will work hard at continuing our strong record.  Base price of sheep hunts begins at $7,500.00 for ten days. All sheep hunts are negotiable as to number of days, dates, guides, etc.
